The Six Branches of Science is a hands-on, student-driven homeschool science curriculum designed to ignite curiosity and build real-world research skills in upper elementary learners. Instead of memorizing facts, students step into the role of scientist, investigator, and creator.
Through guided exploration of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Meteorology, Geology, and Oceanography, students learn how science shapes the world around them while developing critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills that last a lifetime.
This is not a worksheet-based science unit.
This is a project-based, inquiry-led learning experience where:
The student leads the learning
The parent facilitates, not lectures
Knowledge is built through research, creativity, and real-world application
Students don’t just learn science. They experience it.
The six major branches of science and what each one studies
How to research using books, trusted sources, and observation
How to organize information visually using a web diagram
How to ask meaningful questions and think critically
How to present ideas clearly and confidently
How to create an original project that teaches others

Students will:
✔ Build a large visual science web diagram
✔ Research all six branches of science
✔ Choose one branch to explore deeply
✔ Create a final project of their choice, such as:
A book
A video
A board game
A model or diorama
A museum-style exhibit
A play or performance
✔ Present their work to an audience
Ages: 9–12 (Grades 4–6)
Duration: 4–6 weeks
Schedule: 2–3 days per week (45–75 minutes per session)
Format: Printable, flexible, homeschool-friendly
Approach: Interdisciplinary, portfolio-based learning
